OBJECTIVES

To build integrated biodiversity indicators in the three study sites

METHODOLOGIES and expected output

We will analyze existing data (environmental data, fisheries logbooks and underwater visual census records) to characterize the three study sites and identify potential areas with high/low biodiversity levels. Using the data collected during the project with the different monitoring techniques, we will calculate indicators of diversity at the site level and of dissimilarity between sites considering taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional facets of biodiversity. We will also calculate composite indicators measuring the trophic level, nutritional value, and commercial value of observed taxa. We will assess the potential to obtain more precise and more accurate indicators by combining different techniques.
